Arranging A Funeral
Sadly, as we have all learned in recent times, a life we cherish may have been taken from us, often quite suddenly. If the passing was expected, then the departed loved one may have discussed with you how they would like their funeral to be. If such a thought hadn’t been possible, then you have a series of decisions to make.
Our team, here at Fallons, have the experience, discretion, and tact, to build a sympathetic rapport with you. This helps us to ensure that when arranging a funeral, it is as well-planned and carried out as you would want it to be.
We will make an appointment at your home or our office at your convenience in order to discuss the finer details of your requirements. Things to consider.
- Type of service religious or non-religious.
- Where cremation or burial is to take place.
- Traditional which includes hearse plus limousine
- You may require horses and carriage.
- Things you may want said or done on day.
- Certain flowers.
- Music for entering, during and exiting service.
- Donations to a charity of your choice.
All this is optional and can be altered to make more personal to you and your family. Always remember this is about how you want to remember your loved one on the day.
Our aim is to help you with arranging the funeral you want and to make sure it is then carried out with respect and dignity. Get in touch 0161 371 9431.
Key Decisions
This process starts by considering the type of service that you would like for your departed family member and the location. A major consideration is whether the service is to be a religious one that fully meets the requirements of a particular faith. If the preference is for a non-religious ceremony, then it’s likely that a celebrant will be your choice to conduct the funeral.
Another key is whether the service will conclude with a burial or cremation. This decision will lead to the best location for the service. It’s also important, as our team know, to provide full directions, parking instructions, and timing for those who will be attending, in whatever numbers are permitted.
Other Decisions to Consider
With the type of ceremony or celebration and its location decided, you then have the chance to think through and discuss other parts of the service. Considerations often include…
+ Whether you wish a hearse, usually accompanied by one or more limousines, or a striking horse and carriage send-off. (see latest video)
+ The form of words you wish to be said during the funeral. This will include what the service leader will say, plus eulogies or special poems from family members or close friends.
+ The music, religious and otherwise, that best reflects the person whose life is being commemorated. Music is likely to feature as the departed is borne in, then during the service itself, and when the coffin is carried out for a burial or committed for the cremation.
+ Whether flowers are welcome or your preference is for a donation to a charity or a combination of the two.
